Step 1 - Courtship

Hopefully you have learned a lot about Katapult from visiting our website. Now it's our turn to learn about you! We invite you to contact us for a complimentary consultation to discuss what is on your mind, what you are looking for, and how we might be able to help.

Launch Program

The initial call is a no-pressure, casual conversation that will allow me to get to know you a little better. You might find the conversation to be helpful if you think about some of these questions before we speak:

  • Has something happened in your life that has prompted you to reach out to a financial planner?
  • What's on your mind today?
  • What are your top 2-3 questions or concerns right now when it comes to your money?
  • What is important about money to you?
  • What are you hoping to accomplish through financial planning?
  • What do you most look forward to about the future?
  • How do you define success in your working life? Family life? Financial life?

Step 2 - Homework

If we both decide to move forward after our initial call, I will send you a Welcome Package containing paperwork for you to complete. I know... no one likes homework, but I promise to make it as painless as possible.

Accelerate Program

Your Welcome Package will include:

  • Advisory Client Agreement - this outlines the scope of our professional relationship, the services that Katapult will provide to you, and the fees for our services.

  • Privacy Policy - this describes the who, what, when, where and why we collect your nonpublic personal information and the steps we take to protect it. 

  • Trust Contact Authorization Form - sometimes a situation may arise where I need to contact someone you trust if I have concerns about your accounts and am unable to reach you. 

  • Form ADV 2A - this is an informational overview about Katapult's services, fees, methods of investing, and other details about how we do business. 

  • Form ADV 2B - a summary of the educational and professional background of any Katapult employees providing you with financial or investment advice.


Step 3 - Opening Accounts

If you would like Katapult to oversee and manage your investments, there are a few additional steps we need to take.

Elevate Program

If you do not have existing investment accounts, we will discuss what accounts would be appropriate for you. Types of accounts that we might open include:

  • Traditional Brokerage
  • Roth IRA
  • Traditional IRA
  • Revocable or Irrevocable Trust

Katapult uses Charles Schwab as our preferred custodian. If you already have accounts open at Charles Schwab, we can easily link your accounts to Katapult's oversight and management. In most cases there is no need to open new accounts.

If you have investment accounts at another custodian, we work with you to transfer your accounts to Schwab. We will transfer all of your investments as-is;  there are no tax implications because we won't be selling anything.
