As 2023 comes to a close, I wanted to take a minute to express my sincere gratitude for your business, loyalty and support. I am truly humbled that you entrust me with one of the most important aspects of your life. That is a responsibility I appreciate every day and one that I don’t take lightly.
These last few weeks I’ve been reflecting on this past year as I think ahead to what might be in store for 2024. Like most years, 2023 was no different in that it delivered a mix of joy and grief, success and challenges, both personally and professionally. I’m sure many, if not all of you, can relate to that.
Throughout this year, friends and family have asked, “How’s business?” My answer is always the same – it’s great! It’s surreal how well things have been going - I feel like I need to pinch myself sometimes to make sure it’s not all a dream.
The amount of support and encouragement that I have consistently received from friends and family and my clients over this past year is not lost on me. I know I couldn’t do any of this without having such wonderful people in my life cheering me on and believing in me, and for that I can’t say THANK YOU enough.
I have been thinking of ways that I can show my appreciation for your continued trust and support. I’m not sure anyone needs or wants more chocolate this time of year, and I know I certainly don’t have room for yet one more monogrammed travel coffee mug in my kitchen cabinets. So, in lieu of sending out client gifts this year I made the decision to donate to a few charitable organizations that are near and dear to my heart, organizations that I believe are doing work that is more important than ever.
This year I am proud to be able to support:
- Doctors Without Borders and the International Committee of the Red Cross, so that they can continue to provide medical and humanitarian care to people throughout the world who are affected by conflict and violence, disasters and epidemics.
- I also made a donation to the American Red Cross to support their mission to prevent and alleviate human suffering in the face of emergencies, particularly as the frequency and intensity of climate-related disasters continues to increase each year.
- Lastly, I truly believe that financial planning can change lives, but unfortunately not everyone has ready and affordable access to quality financial advice. My final donation was to the Foundation for Financial Planning. The Foundation’s mission is to help people in need improve their financial lives by expanding access to pro bono financial planning.
It is my hope that with the continued growth of Katapult, I can continue to give back to others in need each year. Again, thank you so much for your support and for being on this journey with me. May 2024 bring you lots of love, good health, and many, many opportunities for joy.
Happy New Year!
